Chippewa County EDC Receives Economic Development Administration Grant for $3.4 Million to Support Manufacturing Growth in Chippewa County

For Immediate Release: Jan. 20, 2021   Kincheloe, MI – Chippewa County EDC Receives Economic Development Administration Grant for $3.4 Million to Support Manufacturing Growth in Chippewa County     On Jan. 19th, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $3.4 million grant to the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation, Kincheloe, Michigan, to build a manufacturing facility at the Chippewa County Air/Industrial Park and expand an existing railroad spur to serve the facility. The Employee Assistance Grants were made available by Senate Bill 748, and are designed to provide support to employees impacted by the MDHHS Gathering and Face Mask Order that took effect on November 18, 2020.
