For Immediate Release: Jan. 20, 2021   Kincheloe, MI – Chippewa County EDC Receives Economic Development Administration Grant for $3.4 Million to Support Manufacturing Growth in Chippewa County     On Jan. 19th, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $3.4 million grant to the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation, Kincheloe, Michigan, to build a manufacturing facility at the Chippewa County Air/Industrial Park and expand an existing railroad spur to serve the facility. Michigan Small Business Survival Grant Program to provide $55 million in grants for COVID-19 relief efforts

Employee Assistance Grants –

The Employee Assistance Grants were made available by Senate Bill 748, and are designed to provide support to employees impacted by the MDHHS Gathering and Face Mask Order that took effect on November 18, 2020. The Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association Educational Foundation is administering this grant program.   The application period will open on January 15, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. and will be available until January 25, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. The grants are not first come, first serve and the application will be open for submissions for the entirety of that 10-day period.
