General Aviation Terminal Reconstruction

CHIPPEWA COUNTY — The Chippewa County International Airport is receiving over $5 million in grant funds, as announced Friday afternoon. The U.S. Department of Transportation will be awarding approximately $5,271,043 to the airport, which will be used for the reconstruction and expansion of the airport’s general aviation terminal building to improve operations and efficiency for travelers and baggage moving throughout the airport. Chippewa County EDC Receives Economic Development Administration Grant for $3.4 Million to Support Manufacturing Growth in Chippewa County

For Immediate Release: Jan. 20, 2021   Kincheloe, MI – Chippewa County EDC Receives Economic Development Administration Grant for $3.4 Million to Support Manufacturing Growth in Chippewa County     On Jan. 19th, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $3.4 million grant to the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation, Kincheloe, Michigan, to build a manufacturing facility at the Chippewa County Air/Industrial Park and expand an existing railroad spur to serve the facility. Employee Assistance Grants –

The Employee Assistance Grants were made available by Senate Bill 748, and are designed to provide support to employees impacted by the MDHHS Gathering and Face Mask Order that took effect on November 18, 2020. Michigan Small Business Restart Program

In response to the economic impact of COVID-19, the State of Michigan has allocated $100 million of CARES Act funding to implement the Michigan Small Business Restart Program to support the needs of Michigan Businesses directly impacted by COVID-19. The application for businesses to apply for funding will open on July 15, 2020.
