County EDC Board Welcomes Appointments to Board of Directors
The Chippewa County Board of Commissioners during its Regular session on Thursday, January 2nd appointed Mr. Jeff Hagan as a Board of Director of the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation. Mr. Hagan will replace Mr. Kurt Perron who elected not to be considered for reappointment. In addition the EDC also welcomed the reappointment of Director’s Dan Dasho and Dr. Ralf Wilhelms to the County EDC Board for a 6 year term.
Mr. Hagan is currently the CEO of Eastern Upper Peninsula Regional Planning and Development Commission (EUPRPDC). The EUPRPDC is one of 14 Regional Agencies in the State of Michigan and is a multi-county organization to assist local governments in the EUP in the areas of grant writing, community surveys, land use planning, recreation planning, economic and community development, transportation, and GIS mapping. The EUPRPDC is a regional, non-profit government agency. Mr. Hagan also serves as Vice-President on the Michigan Association of Regions, member of Michigan Association of Planning (MAP) and MAP Government Relations Committee, Redevelopment Ready Communities (RRC) advisory council, Lake Superior Watershed Conservancy Board of Directors, and possesses a MSU Master Citizen Planner Certification.

With his background I believe he brings considerable depth to the EDC and I look forward to working with him to improve the economy of Chippewa County and the EUP region”. “I am also very appreciative of the reappointments of Mr. Dasho and Dr. Wilhelms for another 6 year term and thank Mr. Perron for his past service on the EDC board”.
“I am excited to join the Board at the Chippewa County EDC and continue to support and promote economic growth within Chippewa County”, stated Hagan. “There is tremendous growth potential as we move forward and I feel that my background in economic development over the past 19 years with the EUPRPDC and serving on the Michigan Association of Planning Board for seven years will be an asset to the EDC.”
Jeff is a graduate of Lake Superior State University and resides in Chippewa County with his wife and two children. Mr. Hagan’s appointment is effective April 1, 2020 and will serve through March 31, 2026.
The Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation’s mission is to encourage economic growth through strengthening the county’s competitive position and facilitating investments that build capacity, create jobs, generate economic opportunity and improve quality of life. The Chippewa County EDC also manages the Chippewa County International Airport and the Kincheloe Industrial Park.
